Outer Space

I'm doing a 2-4-1 with this post.  These two manicures seem to go together and I loved them both.

Celestial: This is three coats of China Glaze Up All Night and LA Splash cosmetic glitter in Silver Wave with larger hex glitter from my collection from Esther's Nail Center (a mutil-colored copper mix).  I added one coat of Seche Vite to finish the look.

Nebulous: This manicure was inspired by the flakie glitter showed in this manicure.  I just pictured a space theme with the colored flecks and loved this final look.  I painted three coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather.  For the nebulous, I dotted the center with Orly Glitz & Glamour and China Glaze Iciclehand painted accents with China Glaze Cyberspace.  Over the entirety I painted two coats of Finger Paints Asylum and added one coat of Seche Vite for the top coat.

Discoteca

This manicure was so great in it's silver, holo awesomeness.  It really fun and sparkly. It's hard sometimes to catch glitters in their shiny, holographic, sparkly state, but I'm finding reflection works great to show some of the different dimensions of the polish itself.  On a application note, I used loose holographic bar glitter pressed in the not quite dry manicure, and although it looks great it ends up feeling awful; it would continue to lift during the entire time I wore the manicure and I would have to continue to peel the little bars of glitter off.  It almost reminded me of fraying fabric--or maybe in my dry hand state now, hangnails.  Good thing the whole manicure was so stacked with glitter power, it was hard to notice the waning glitter as the days went by.

I painted three coats of Zoya Dove and added loose bar glitter from CinaPro in Metallic Jewels "E" first and then LA Splash Cosmetics Face and Body Glitter in Silver Torpedo.  Atop the entire manicure, I used one coat Seche Vite

Purple/Pink Sparkle

I've needed to find a way to showcase my new Ulta Nail polish, and this was the result. It was pretty and simple. The pictures don't show the multi-sized glitter flecks as well, but click on the link below for better swatches.

Green Neon With Blue Glitter Detail

I love neon green. I also love sparkles. You might already know that. This was simple but fun that popped.

I painted three coats on all fingers but my ring of China Glaze In The Limelight. I dotted each green nail and used a base of China Glaze Blue Iguana for my ring finger and then added glitter from Yofi in Caribbean Crush. I coated the entire manicure with a top coat of Seche Vite.

Ketchup To The Sparkle

This new color from the Zoya's Summertime Collection immediately reminded me of ketchup. I was not sure I liked it (but I think it was more that I didn't like the manicure). It also chipped the first day it was on my nails, so it promptly went away!

I painted three coats of Zoya Tamsen and added to all nails but my ring finger through sponging first OPI Extra-Va-Vaganza and then added on top and in the center OPI Gift of Gold. On my ring finger I painted one coat of China Glaze Golden Enchantment adding to all nails one coat of CND Super Shiney to seal the deal.

Sparkle Web

I owe a manicure in this color as I got it as a gift from a friend. And that's about all the description I have! I might be boring, but I don't think this manicure is...

I painted three coats in China Glaze Go Crazy Red. I used Konad image disk m64 with Konad's Special Nail Polish in Black then filled in random areas with China Glaze Mrs. Claus and I used two coats of Seche Vite to finish the look.

Poison Control

I got a great gift certificate to OC Nail Art from my brother for Christmas to increase my Konad supply and am excited to try out my haul. I have only ever bought one "special nail polish" for Konad stamping before; it's blue and I rarely use it. However, I thought it was time to invest in black and white so I could really get some opaque stampings in those shades. I have to say, it really paid off. These images are so clean and crisp--especially the white on black. I have had great luck with OC Nail Art for Konad--it's located in the US. I ordered Monday and got my plates and polishes today in the mail! If you get the chance, check out their website!

Look how clean and clear!

I painted the black nails with three coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Midnight In NY, the white nails are three coats China Glaze White on White and one coat of Orly Winter Wonderland. I used Konad Plate m28 and special polishes in White and Black and Zoya Lisa for my thumbs. I used two coats of Seche Vite on top.

Golden Stripe

Ok, so the title isn't that exciting, but I am posting a manicure that is no longer on my nails in order to get it to you, so I'm not using all of my creative juices. Getting into the swing of things here in the new year has been hard. So this is gonna be quick so I can get down to the business of catching you up!

I painted three coats of Zoya Crystal and used Konad plate m57 with Orly Luxe. I then filled in with a fine brush and Luxe the gold stripe and added some glitter with LA Splash Cosmetics and Golden Egg. I used one coat of Seche Vite to finish with the shine!

Glowing Tips

So my Elves stayed actually for quite a while without chipping. Of course that could be because the last few days all I've been doing is recuperating from the stomach flu and really have been confined to my couch watching TV. With low energy and low motivation, I needed a simple manicure. Done and done.

I painted two coats of China Glaze Harmony. Then used La Splash Nail Art Glitter in Dry Ice on the tips. Sealed with two coats of Seche Vite to smooth out the roughness (but it's still catching on my knitted blanket).

Christmas Balls, Part Two

I have the sparkles just dying to be seen and I have to oblige them.  I thought I would try a different rendition of Christmas balls as a way to showcase the glitter.  Which as I have said before, I am obsessed with currently.  Inspiration of late has been hard to come by, but I do like the outcome of this manicure.

I painted three coats of Orly Winter Wonderland.  I then painted these five colors in ball formation on subsequent individual nails: Meet Me Under The MistletoeZoya SarahOrly Glitz & GlamourChina Glaze Harmonyand Entourage.  In the same corresponding order, I added these glitters from LA Splash Cosmetics to the top of those balls: Onyx, Trickery, Golden Egg, Viola, and Immature.  I topped the balls with China Glaze Millennium and lined the balls lightly and finished the topper of the balls with Liquid Leather.  I finished with two coats of Seche Vite.

Re-Gifting

This manicure was supposed to be slated for a Jersey Shore themed party I was going to be attending. Due to snow, wind and generally bad weather here in MN, the party was cancelled and now my manicure had been re-gifted as a glorious, snow day manicure. (or at least that's what I'm telling myself and you). So happy snow day! Enjoy the glitter and sparkle of the holiday season!!! Can you tell I've been obsessed with glitter/sparkle lately. Love!!!

Sparkle Shot!

I first painted one coat for a base of color in China Glaze Shocking Pink. I then put three coats of OPI Extra-Va-Vaganza on the base of my nail. I added two more coats of Shocking Pink to the tips. I added nail art glitter from LA Splash in Golden Egg to the center of my nail (for added dimension) and the tips of the pink. Sealed the sparkles with a coat of clear nail polish and a top coat of Seche Vite.

Evil Eye

I wanted something simple and fun since I always want something fun, but I have a manicure planned for Saturday when the Katy Kostume is coming out again and didn't want to spend a lot of time on something I was just going to take off in 36 hours!  I still have these sparkle polishes from China Glaze Halloween (Awakening) collection and wanted to showcase them a bit.  Plus I picked up a clearance Sally Hansen sparkle polish and decided to throw them all together.  The design is a cultural talisman that wards off the evil eye.  Don't know what the evil eye is?  Here's a link to Wikipedia for some background info.  And here is a look at some images of the talisman (as seen on my nail) to protect me or anyone from harm!  So I asked you last time if you believed in ghosts or the paranormal, now I want to know: Are you superstitious?  Do you have any rituals or beliefs that you feel protect you from harm (or those who want to do you harm)?

The Pink/Purple side of manicure:

The orange side of manicure:

For the manicure I first coated twice with China Glaze Mummy May Ithen on one half of my nail I painted a coat of Ick-A-Bod-Y.  Over the whole nail I added Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Extreme Wear in Rockstar Pink.  The evil eye is made of the following colors Essie Midnight CamiChina Glaze Bahamian EscapeUlta Angel Babyand Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Midnight in NY and China Glaze Golden Enchantment as a sparkle over the eye.  I used one coat of Seche Vite to bring out the sparkle!

Trick

This is the ultimate Halloween manicure because it scared me and I hated it!  A total trick, not a treat.  It lasted a day and I am glad for my pure acetone remover because I really needed it to rid myself of this.  I do still love the colors and the sparkles of this manicure, so it has that going for it.  But it deserves proof of its existence because, who know, someone else might love it.

Extreme Sparkle Close Up:

I painted first two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Midnight in NY.  Then used China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-Y and Orly It's Not Rocket Science with one coat of Seche Vite to finish.

Gumdrops and Lollipops

Well, really just lollipops.  Maybe you don't think immediately of lollipops in association with Halloween--and your instincts would be right in my opinion.  But I went to a Halloween party and I dressed up as Katy Perry from her music video "California Gurls."  If you have watched the video, you know it's all about candy and sweets.  So to keep with the theme of all things sugary, I painted lollipops.  I'm attaching some low quality pics the costume and a screen cap of Katy for comparison so you get the idea!~

Katy Perry

My Version

Base coat color was China Glaze Light As Air and I used Ulta Angel Baby for all the white accents and the colors used for the pops were Zoya Jolene, China Glaze Sky High-Top, Entourage, Sun Worshiper and Orly Mirror Mirror for the gray pinwheel forms.  I coated the whole look with a sparkle polish Fairy Dust and a top coat of Seche Vite.

I've Been Ruffied

Not to be confused with a roofie or being roofied, I am jumping on the "Ruffian Manicure" bandwagon in my own style, of course.  (here is a cool example.) I had recently participated in Zoya's Polish Exchange and have now purchased--or rather exchanged for my first Zoya polishes.  They are vegan, have many color options and people seem to like them and I thought I would give them a shot.  From where I live, I haven't found them in any stores, so if I want more of their polishes in the future, I will still have to order online.  It is kind of risky since you don't really get to see what the polish looks like in real life.  I tried to find color swatches from others on the Web in order to make my selections.  But so far, I really like the colors I picked and the application/dry time was pretty good.

I used Zoya Jolene for the pink and Charla for the green/blue sparkle.  I painted a coat of Seche Vite on top.
